20 days ago – Wed, Jul 27, 2022 at 01:04:21 PM

Hello Apex Minions! We're back again for another year of Apex Magazine! Our 2023 Apex Magazine Kickstarter has launched! Funding this KS secures the first three issues of Apex Magazine next year.

We have a list of wonderful backer rewards and add-ons for you this year including discounted subscriptions, bundles, and new swag. We're grateful to all our supporters for backing us in the past and invite you to continue to share your journey with us.

Head over to our Kickstarter project page to bag your goodies!

Our initial funding goal of $12,000 will secure issues 136, 137, and  138—this includes paying our writers, artists, etc. as well as covering our overhead costs like Kickstarter fees, website and podcasting hosting, paying our editorial staff, and more.

You can also look forward to original fiction from our six Commitment to Quality authors throughout 2023.

  • Jordan Kurella (I Never Liked You Anyway, When I Was Lost)
  • Suyi Davies Okunbowa (Son of the Storm, Warrior of the Wind)
  • Christopher Rowe (Telling the Map, The Navigating Fox)
  • Sarah Hollowell (A Dark and Starless Forest)
  • Sara Tantlinger (The Devil’s Dreamland: Poetry Inspired by H.H. Holmes, Cradleland of Parasites)
  • Aurelius Raines II (Dead Inside: Poetry and Essays about Zombies, Black Power: A Superhero Anthology)

Let's secure this thing. Take me to the Kickstarter!

2022 Kickstarter Needs Your Help

We are down to the final day of our 2022 Kickstarter. There are still plenty of great rewards to grab. For example, the Snap Judgment Workshop, fun Alien mystery boxes, swag packs, signed art prints, and tuckerizations.

We're about $2500 away from funding all six planned issues of Apex Magazine in 2022. Check out the rewards and add-ons for all the cool stuff available.

We could use your help as we've yet to hit 60% of the support we received in 2021. :-)

Indigenous Futurists Special Issue

Last year you funded two bonus special issues. The first of these arrive in October. Guest editor Allison Mills has submitted her original fiction TOC. You can find the TOC and the full announcement here.

International Futurists Special Issue

The second bonus issue is our upcoming International Futurists. This one arrives in December and is guest-edited by Francesco Verso. You can find Francesco's full list of contributors and our announcement here.

And Another Thank You

Once more, thank you for your support of Apex Magazine. 2021 has been a great year for us in terms of fiction and accomplishments. The last 18 months have been a challenge for everyone. We hope that having Apex Magazine to read has been a welcome distraction.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Keep reading.
